Julien Hautier is a certified Executive Coach and international development expert with over 20 years of experience, including 15 years within international organizations.  His career spans leadership and technical roles in organizations such as UNICEF, the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), and the French Development Agency (AFD), where he led high-impact programs in education, institutional capacity development, and public policy reform. Julien has managed and coached multidisciplinary teams in several countries across Africa, Latin America, and the MENA region.

Throughout his work—whether leading UNICEF’s education portfolio in Tunisia, managing the IADB post-earthquake reconstruction in the education sector in Haiti, or advising ministries on education reforms in Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa—he has developed a deep expertise in performance management, strategic leadership, and team cohesion. His coaching draws on these experiences to help professionals thrive in complex environments and transition into more effective, confident leaders and team members.

Based in Spain since 2020, Julien combines coaching with ongoing consultancy work in the international development sector. His recent assignments include coaching and advising technical teams in the design and implementation of large EU-funded initiatives across Sub-Saharan Africa and conducting sector and policy analyses for organizations like Expertise France, the Global Partnership for Education and UNICEF.

Julien holds a Master’s in Public Administration from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University (2005) and a Bachelor's in Development Economics from the University of Auvergne (2001). He is certified in Executive Coaching through Symbiosis Coaching (USA).

A French national fluent in English, Spanish, and French, Julien is the father of two Franco-Ecuadorian children. Julien brings a cross-cultural lens to his coaching practice.

In his free time, his favorite activities still revolve around KITE (kitesurfing), spending time with his family, and doing handiwork around the house (learning by doing).
